Pegen Industries – Sheet Metal Division is looking for a qualified NC Brake Operator to join our growing team.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for setting up and operating NC press brake equipment to bend, form, and shape sheet metal components accurately and efficiently. The role ensures parts meet production requirements, engineering drawings, and quality standards while maintaining safe and organized work practices.
Position Objectives
- Produce formed sheet metal parts according to production schedules, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and repeatability of bends and formed components.
- Support efficient workflow within the fabrication team and contribute to continuous improvement of process.
- Set up and operate NC press brake machines to bend sheet metal according to drawings and work orders.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings for each job.
- Perform in-process checks using precision measuring tools.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain part accuracy and quality.
- Maintain accurate job tracking and production documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation following 5S practices.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Communicate issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to the manager.
- Assist with process improvements and support team members when needed.
Authority
- Identify and stop production when quality concerns or safety risks are present.
- Recommend tooling, process, or workflow improvements.
- Request clarification when drawings, materials, routers or specifications are unclear..
Expected Deliverables and Outcomes
- Meet scheduled production and delivery timelines.
- Produce parts that meet drawing specifications and tolerance requirements.
